From the author: The recent resurgence of interest in organizational learning provides a fresh language for human resource professionals and line managers to examine the role of mental models in organizations. Organizational learning is a useful framework for assessing management development programs and creating mutually beneficial relationships between the line manager and the human resource professional. This article suggests a number of actions that management training and development personnel, line managers, and senior managers can take to enhance the organization's educational efforts. Toward this end, the article identifies and discusses five steps for fostering organizational learning.
